**Course Description:**  

Fashion Design 101 is a foundational course designed to introduce aspiring designers to the basics of fashion design. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical exercises, students will explore the creative process of designing garments from concept to sketch. This course also integrates hands-on practices, including hand stitching techniques, to empower students with a well-rounded understanding of fashion design from conceptualization to creation. This course covers essential aspects such as fashion trends, color theory, fabric selection, and the fundamentals of drawing and presenting fashion sketches. By the end of this course, students will have developed their own design portfolio and a mini-collection, incorporating hand-stitched elements, showcased in a professional portfolio.

**If you reside in Baltimore, Maryland an in-person option is available for this course if registration minimum is met. There is an additional $100 fee for all in person classes. If registration minimum is not met and student does not want to attend virtually, all deposit will be refunded.**
